International Constitutional Law Advanced
An advanced course examining constitutional principles in the international legal order, constitutional interpretation, separation of powers, judicial review, emergency powers, rights protection and constitutional accountability.

Module 1 — Advanced Constitutional Principles
Students examine foundational constitutional principles including legality, separation of powers, institutional accountability, constitutional supremacy and the protection of fundamental rights.
Module 2 — Constitutional Interpretation
Students analyse competing approaches to constitutional interpretation and examine how courts and other constitutional institutions determine the meaning and application of constitutional provisions.
Module 3 — Separation of Powers and Institutional Design
Students examine the allocation of authority between legislative, executive and judicial institutions and consider mechanisms designed to prevent concentration or abuse of public power.
Module 4 — Judicial Review and Constitutional Remedies
Students examine judicial review, constitutional challenges and remedies for unconstitutional governmental action, including the relationship between courts and other branches of government.
Module 5 — Emergency Powers and Constitutional Limits
Students analyse constitutional responses to emergencies, including exceptional powers, legal safeguards, oversight, proportionality and the protection of non-derogable or fundamental rights.
Module 6 — Constitutional Accountability and Comparative Practice
Students apply advanced constitutional principles to comparative problems involving accountability, institutional conflict, rights protection and the lawful exercise of public authority.
