International Trade Law Advanced
An advanced course examining international trade agreements, market access, tariffs, non-tariff measures, trade remedies, dispute settlement and the relationship between trade rules and domestic regulation.

Module 1 — Advanced International Trade Framework
Students examine the structure and principles of international trade law, including multilateral trade agreements, regional arrangements, treaty obligations and the relationship between international trade rules and domestic legal systems.
Module 2 — Market Access, Tariffs and Non-Tariff Measures
Students analyse tariff commitments, quantitative restrictions, licensing requirements, technical regulations and other measures affecting access to international markets.
Module 3 — Non-Discrimination and Trade Regulation
Students examine core non-discrimination principles, including most-favoured-nation treatment and national treatment, and consider how these principles interact with legitimate domestic regulation.
Module 4 — Trade Remedies and Unfair Trade Practices
Students examine anti-dumping measures, countervailing measures and safeguards, including the legal conditions and procedural requirements governing their use.
Module 5 — Trade and Public Policy
Students analyse the relationship between international trade obligations and public policy objectives, including public health, environmental protection, consumer interests and other regulatory concerns.
Module 6 — International Trade Dispute Settlement
Students examine consultation, adjudication and other dispute-settlement mechanisms used to resolve international trade disputes, including legal interpretation, evidence and implementation of decisions.
